What clients are saying

Questions? Here are some answers.

What is coaching? What is a life coach?

“Coaching” is defined by the International Coaching Federation (ICF) as “partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.”

A life coach’s job is to help clients improve their quality of life, which usually involves identifying where you are, where you want to be, action steps to get there, and practices to overcome any barriers that come up along the way.

What is the difference between a life coach and a therapist?

Life coaches are to therapists as personal trainers are to doctors.

Working with a doctor usually involves addressing more serious physical concerns than working with a personal trainer. Similarly working with a therapist usually involves addressing more serious mental concerns than would be addressed with a life coach (such as processing trauma or seeking treatment for depression).

Life coaches are like personal trainers for your mental and emotional health: while personal trainers help people optimize their physical health, coaches help people optimize their mental and emotional health through open and judgement-free dialogue.

In short, if you’re looking to improve your life by making positive changes in your life, a coach is an incredible resource to invest in.

But if you’re specifically looking for help with mental illnesses or processing past emotional trauma, you’d likely be better suited by a mental health professional such as a counselor, or a therapist.

Why should I choose Morgan as my coach?

I am a coach certified by one of the best coaches in the United States, Martha Beck, and my coaching practice aligns with the gold standard of coaching ethics (The ICF Code of Ethics). I take the quality of my coaching very seriously and am constantly improving my processes and pursuing additional education as a coach.

HOWEVER, the coaching process works best when the coach and client connect/vibe well with one another. Why? Because it is so much easier to make progress when you feel comfortable being open and honest with your coach. I always recommend meeting with a coach before deciding whether you want to work together to make sure the coach is someone that you believe you can genuinely get along with.

To find out whether I can be that person for you, schedule a consultation so we can chat!

What format do you use for sessions?

I primarily use Google Meet and FaceTime for coaching sessions. Sessions are 50 minutes long.

If a client prefers not to be on camera, I am willing to negotiate a coaching relationship which occurs via phone, text, or email.

What is self-love?

Self-love involves valuing, respecting, and caring about your happiness and well-being as much as you would for your loved ones. To have self-love is to treat yourself with understanding, kindness, and good will.

Cultivating your self-love is also good for others, because  “filling your cup” increases your capacity to fill other cups (i.e. taking care of yourself and loving yourself increases your capacity to do the same for others).

Do you offer payment plans?

Payment options include:

  1. Pay in full
  2. Pay in 2 equal payments (50% each)
  3. Or make equal monthly payments throughout the coaching relationship.
What is the typical age of your clients?

While I have worked with clients ranging between 20 and 65 years old, the majority of my clients are in their 20’s and 30’s.

The tools I use in my coaching practice can work regardless of age, and are respectful of the range and diversity of life experiences everyone brings to the table.

For potential clients under 18: I will need to have a conversation with (and get signed permission from) a parent or guardian to work together.
